Recipe: Hot Cocoa (Pet Evaporated Milk, 1963)

Beverages
HOT COCOA

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup sugar
few grains salt
1 1/2 cups hot water
1 2/3 cups evaporated milk (1 tall can)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix cocoa powder and sugar together in a 2-quart saucepan. Gradually stir in 1 1/2 cups hot water. Stir over medium heat 3 minutes.

Stir in evaporated milk; heat until steaming. Do not boil. Take off heat. Stir in vanilla. Just before serving, beat with rotary beater.

Makes 4 servings
