
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1 cup salted peanuts
Mix together sugar, evaporated milk and corn syrup in a heavy 2-quart saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat to a boil (mixture will be bubbling all over top). Boil and stir 2 minutes more. Take off heat.
Off heat, add chocolate pieces and stir until completely melted. Stir in peanuts. Drop with 2 teaspoons on wax paper. Chill until set.
VARIATION:
PECAN CLUSTERS:
Use 1 cup pecan halves in place of the peanuts.
Makes 24 candies
