Recipe: Hot Fudge Sauce or Chocolate Frosting (Pet Evaporated Milk, 1963)

1 (6 oz.) pkg. (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate pieces
1/2 cup evaporated milk
Put chocolate pieces and evaporated milk into a heavy 1-quart saucepan. Stir over low heat until chocolate melts completely.
Serve warm over ice cream, cake or pudding. May be reheated.
VARIATION:
CHOCOLATE FROSTING:
Make Hot Fudge Sauce as described above. When chocolate melts, take off heat. Stir in until smooth 3 cups sifted powdered sugar. Frosting can be thinned with a little more evaporated or thickened with powdered sugar. Frosts two 8 or 9-inch cake layers or 36 cup cakes.
