Recipe: Georgian Pecan Pie (using bourbon)

GEORGIAN PECAN PIE

2 cups unbroken pecan meats
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust
2 tbsp butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup dark corn syrup
3 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup bourbon
1 tsp vanilla
1/8 tsp salt

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

Arrange 1 cup whole pecan halves in bottom of pie crust.

Cream butter and sugar together. Beat in everything but remaining pecans.

Chop reserved cup of pecans and fold into mixture. Pour over whole pecans.

Bake in a 450 degree F oven.

Reduce oven temperature to 375 degrees F and bake 20 minutes or until done.
