Recipe: Baby Hamburgers (may be frozen)

Baby Hamburgers (may be frozen)

These baby hamburgers are my favorite.

Cocktail Buns:
Dissolve:
1 Tbsp active dry yeast
in 1/4 cup warm water (110F)
Add:
2 tsp sugar
2 Tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
Pour in:
1 cup warmed milk (110F)
Add:
1 beaten egg
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour

Mix well. Knead for 7-8 minutes.

Place in greased bowl and let rise for 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size.

Punch down. Shape into balls about the size of a walnut and place of greased baking sheet. Let rise until doubled in size.

Bake at 400F for 20 minutes.

Baby hamburgers:
1 lb ground beef
1 lb ground pork
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
2 eggs, well beaten
1 cup milk

Mix everything together in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on
high speed until light and fluffy.

Make patties about 1 1/2-inches in diameter
and drop onto a lightly greased frying pan. Cook until done.

May be made ahead and frozen.

When ready to serve heat buns in a 350F oven for about 10 minutes (on baking sheet loosely covered with foil).

At the same time, place baby hamburgers on a baking sheet and heat until warm.

Put a slice of cheese in each cocktail bun and put a hamburger in it. Serve warm.
