BEEF AND SAUSAGE LOAF
1/2 C. chopped onion
2 T. chopped green bell pepper
2 T. butter or margarine
2 beaten eggs
1/2 C. tomato juice
1/2 C. quick-cooking rolled oats
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. country sausage
Cook onion and bell pepper in butter until tender but not brown. Combine eggs with next 4 ingredients and cooked vegetables. Add beef and sausage and mix well. Pat mixture into 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 F for 1 1/2 hours.
Remove from oven and pour off excess fat. Let meat stand in pan several minutes before slicing. Makes 8 servings.
