BISQUICK APPLE COFFEE CAKE
Streusel Topping (recipe follows)
2 cups Bisquick Original baking mix
2/3 cup milk or water
3 tablespoons sugar
1 egg
2 medium cooking apples, peeled and thinly sliced (about 2 cups)
2 tablespoons chopped nuts
Glaze (recipe follows)
Heat oven to 400 degrees F. Grease square pan, 9x9x2 inches.
Prepare Streusel Topping; reserve.
Mix baking mix, milk, sugar, and egg; beat vigorously 30 seconds. Spread half the batter in pan.
Arrange apple slices on batter; sprinkle with half of the Streusel Topping. Spread remaining batter over apple slices; sprinkle with remaining Streusel Topping. Sprinkle with nuts.
Bake about 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean; cool.
Drizzle with Glaze.
STREUSEL TOPPING

2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup firm margarine or butter
Mix all ingredients together until crumbly.
GLAZE
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 toe 3 teaspoons milk
Mix ingredients together until smooth and drizzling consistency.
High altitude directions (3500 to 6500 feet): Bake 30 to 35 minutes.
Servings: 8
