This is as easy as it gets other than buying a mix and ready made frosting.
Easy Chocolate Frosting
Ingredients:
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter or margarine
2/3 cup Cocoa powder
3 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Melt butter. Stir in cocoa. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, beating to
spreading consistency.
2. Add small amount additional milk , if needed. Stir in vanilla. About 2 cups
frosting.
Devil's Food Cake
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup Cocoa powder
1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1-2/3 cups milk
1/2 cup shortening
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans or one
13x9x2-inch baking pan.
2. Stir together sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt in large bowl. Add milk,
shortening, eggs and vanilla. Beat on low speed of electric mixer 30 seconds to
blend ingredients. Beat on medium speed 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally.
Pour batter into prepared pans.
3. Bake 30 to 35 minutes for layers; 35 to 40 minutes for rectangular pan or until
wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes; remove from
pans to wire racks. Cool completely. Frost. 10 to
12 servings.
