GLAZED TOP MEAT LOAF
1/3 cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup
1/4 cup water
1 cup soft bread crumbs
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 tablespoons minced fresh onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
FOR THE GLAZE:
1/4 cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup
2 tablespoons pancake syrup, light corn syrup or honey
In small bowl, combine the 1/3 cup ketchup and water; stir in bread crumbs and set aside.
In large bowl, place meat, eggs, onion, salt and pepper; add bread crumb mixture and combine thoroughly. Form meat into a loaf (8x4x1 1/2-inches) in shallow baking pan.
Bake in 350 degrees F oven, 1 hour.
Meanwhile, combine the 1/4 cup ketchup and syrup; spread over top of meat loaf last 10 minutes of baking. Allow meat loaf to stand 5 minutes before slicing.
Makes 6 servings
