Recipe: Meal in a Bun with Tostada or Pizza Filling (using frozen bread dough)

2 pounds frozen bread dough
1 recipe Tostado or Pizza Filling (see below)
Thaw dough until warm.
On lightly floured board, roll each 1-pound loaf into a 12x12-inch square. Cut each into nine 4x4-inch pieces.
On each square, spoon 2 tablespoons of filling. Pick up corners of each square and pinch together. Pinch each diagonal seam so edges are well sealed. Place on baking sheet coated with non-stick spray.*
Bake at 400 degrees for 15-18 minutes.
Serve warm. Leftovers may be frozen; wrap in foil and reheat at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until hot in center.
*To Make Ahead: At this point buns may be frozen and placed in airtight container. To bake and serve, place frozen buns on baking sheet coated with non-stick spray and bake at 350 degrees until browned, about 35 minutes.
TOSTADO FILLING:
1 pound extra lean ground beef
1/4 cup minced onion
1 single package taco seasoning mix
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Cook ground beef and onion over medium heat, until beef is no longer pink; drain thoroughly. Stir in taco seasoning, tomato sauce and cheese.
PIZZA FILLING:
1 pound extra lean ground beef
1/4 cup minced onion
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 cup mozzarella cheese
Cook ground beef and onion over medium heat, until beef is no longer pink; drain thoroughly. Stir in pizza sauce and cheese.
Makes 18 buns
