Recipe: Melt In Your Mouth Cranberry Pie

MELT IN YOUR MOUTH CRANBERRY PIE

2 c. cranberries
1 1/2 c. sugar, divided use
1/2 c. chopped nuts (walnuts)
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/4 c. melted shortening (Crisco)

Grease well a 10 inch pie plate.

Spread whole cranberries over the bottom of pie plate. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar and nuts.

Beat eggs well, add: 1 cup sugar gradually and beat until thoroughly mixed. Add flour and melted butter and shortening to egg mixture. Beat well. Pour batter over top of cranberries.

Bake at 325 degrees F for 60 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Cut like pie.

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
