Recipe: Slow Cooker Candied Yams

SLOW COOKER CANDIED YAMS

1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup white granulated sugar (or to taste)
1 cup brown sugar (or to taste)
4 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced

Mix butter, vanilla, salt and both sugars in bowl.

Layer potatoes and sugar mixture in crock pot, stirring to coat potatoes well.

Cover and cook on low 4 hours, or until potatoes are tender. Serve immediately.

Makes 12 servings
