ISO: Carrot Cake Question (tube cake with nuts and pineapple, 1960's)

I'm so glad I came across this recipe for two reasons. It sounds great, and I have a question that someone may be able to answer.
I don't have a metal tube baking pan, BUT I do have 2 Pyrex baking cylinders. Do you think this recipe will work in them? I also want to make Date-Nut bread in them, so I can slice it just like the versions that came in a can.
