Recipe: Ground Beef Filets and Peaches (wrapped in bacon, broiled, 1960's)

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup grated onion
3/4 cup milk
9 slices bacon
1 (1b. 13 oz.) can peach halves
Preheat broiler.
Combine meat, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, grated onion and milk. Shape into 6 patties.
Cut 3 bacon slices in half. Wrap each pattie with 1 1/2 slices of bacon, securing with picks. Place on broiler rack in broiler pan.
Place broiler pan into broiler allowing 3- to 4-inches between surface of meat and heat. Broil the patties on one side until they are brown, 8 to 10 minutes. Turn. Place peach halves around meat. Broil meat on second side.
Makes 6 servings
