Regarding baking in a Pyrex glass tube baker, I think only yeast bread dough will work in it - quick bread or cake dough will pour out the ends. You can use a Bundt pan (or angel food cake pan) or 2 loaf pans in the recipe you're referring to. As for baking cakes and quick breads into rounds, you can use vegetable cans lined with aluminum foil and greased (to keep whatever they use to coat the inside of the can away from the baked food). But I wouldn't use cans for baking that you can't remove the label from.
