Recipe: Five-Pound Fudge (Carnation, 1980's)

FIVE-POUND FUDGE

4 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups undiluted Carnation Evaporated Milk
1/3 cup butter
I teaspoon salt
4 cups (8 ounces) miniature marshmallows
4 cups (two 12 ounce packages) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups chopped nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt in large saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until just comes to a boil. Boil 7 to 8 minutes, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients. Stir vigorously until marshmallows melt and blend. Pour into foil lined (12 x 7 1/2 x 2-inch) baking dish. Cool.

Makes about 5 pounds
