Louisiana Onion Shortcake

Serving Size : 8

2 large onions
1 stick (1/2 cup) margarine
8 ounces sour cream
1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups mild Cheddar cheese -- grated
15 ounces cream style corn
1/3 cup milk
8 1/2 ounces corn muffin mix
1 egg
8 drops Louisiana Hot Sauce (or more to taste)

Thinly slice onions and saut in margarine. Stir in sour cream, dill weed, salt and 1 cup cheese.

In a bowl, mix corn, milk, muffin mix, egg and hot sauce. Pour corn mixture in a 9" x 13" pan or dish. Spread onion mixture on top. Sprinkle remaining cheese over onion mixture.

Bake at 425F for 30 to 40 minutes.
