Carolyn, I made these earlier this week. So yummy!
I sliced onions in the processor, tossed them with a bit of oil, and added a little butter. If I remember I may add a bit of sherry or wine next time once they've collapsed a bit. I have several baggies in the freezer. Thanks for the idea!
