re: Grandma's Molasses Banana Bread

I followed this recipe as written, though a cup of Molasses seemed overwhelming. Tasting the batter revealed an unpleasant combination of banana and molasses which remained after baking. Were the bananas too ripe?
Also, the orange zest was imperceptible. In fact everything was overpowered by the molasses, except the conflict of the banana. Toasted with butter does make it more palatable. But, next time I make banana bread, I will omit the molasses and save it for MY Grandma's gingerbread with lemon sauce.

Thanks so much for taking the time to let us know and I'm sorry it didn't turn out as expected. I made a note in the recipe that a reduction in molasses might be needed. If someone else gives it a try maybe they'll post their results.
