COCOA-SPICE SNACKIN' CAKE
1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup Hershey's cocoa
3/4 cup applesauce
1 1/4 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9-inch square pan.
Combine melted butter and cocoa; blend in applesauce.
Combine flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in large bowl. Blend in cocoa mixture and egg until dry ingredients are moistened. Stir in nuts.
Spread in prepared pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean. Cool in pan.
