Substitutions for students ...

Misc.

Several of you seemed to be worried about substitutions if giving to students - who probably live in dorms.

I think the soy flour added to the dry - and extra water to the instructions is a good idea.

What about - instead of oil -- having on your instructions an amount for butter/ole pats? Perhaps they could pick 1 or 2 extras up at breakfast? Most of them would be soft enough. I'm not telling anyone to steal .... but when they want to make a cake in cup - just pick up 2 when getting your toast in the morning? Something like that! However, I don't think a tiny bottle (pint? half-pint) would spoil in a dorm before it was used. Remembering some of the things my kids kept around for a long time.
