Recipe: Sweet Flavored Butters (almond, date, orange and raspberry)

Toppings - Assorted
SWEET FLAVORED BUTTERS

Beat 1 cup margarine or butter, softened, and one of the following:

Almond:
2 tablespoons finely chopped almonds and 1 teaspoon almond extract

Date:
1/2 cup finely chopped dates

Orange:
2 teaspoons grated orange peel and 2 tablespoons orange juice

Raspberry:
1 cup raspberries, crushed, and 2 tablespoons sugar or 1/2 cup raspberry jam.

Store tightly covered in refrigerator up to 3 weeks or in freezer up to 2 months. Pack about 1/2 cup of any of these wonderful butters in a pretty container and give with a loaf of homemade nut bread for a host or hostess gift.

For easy slicing, shape butter into a log and wrap tightly in plastic wrap or waxed paper before storing.
