CORNMEAL MOLASSES BREAD
"This traditional New England bread has a moist, chewy texture and adapts well to the bread machine!"
FOR A 1 1/2 POUND LOAF:
3/4 cup water
1/3 cup milk
3 tablespoons molasses
2 tablespoons softened butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups bread flour
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
1 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
FOR A 2 POUND LOAF:
1 cup water
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup molasses
3 tablespoons softened butter
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups bread flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1 3/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
Prepare bread according to manual directions.
Select loaf size setting and follow proper loaf size ingredient measure.
1 1/2 pound loaf = 12 servings
2 pound loaf = 16 servings
