Recipe: Molasses Refrigerator Cookies (Grandma's Molasses) (slice and bake, no spices)

3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup Grandma's Unsulphured Molasses
1 egg
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup raisins
1 cup nuts, chopped
Cream butter and blend in molasses. Beat in egg. Sift in flour and baking powder. Blend well. Add raisins. Shape dough into 2 rolls about 12 inches long. Roll in chopped nuts and wrap in foil or waxed paper. Refrigerate for 12 hours or overnight. Or freeze for 3 hours.
WHEN READY TO BAKE:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease baking sheets.
Cut in 1/4-inch slices. Place on prepared baking sheets.
Bake in 350 degree F oven for 12 minutes.
Makes 62 cookies
