Grand Chocolate Cookies
From: Scubamare,TN
Wow, here's a recipe I found dated 1936

1/2 cup melted lard
1/2 c sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
3 Tbsp cocoa
1 level tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
pinch salt
1 cup nuts if desired (I don't do the nuts in this)

Cream lard and sugar. Drop in eggs one at time and beat in. Alternate milk and flour adding to creamed mixture. Drop on greased pan. Bake 7 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove to waxed paper to cool. When cool ice with chocolate icing
