HUNT'S LASAGNA MADE EASY
1 pound uncooked lasagna noodles, uncooked
FOR THE MEAT SAUCE:
1 pound ground beef
2 cans (15 oz. each) Hunt's Family Favorites Seasoned Tomato Sauce for Lasagna (or tomato/spaghetti sauce)
1 2/3 cups hot water
FOR THE CHEESE MIXTURE:
1 pound ricotta cheese
1 pound mozzarella cheese, grated (4 cups)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 eggs, beaten
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
To prepare the meat sauce, brown meat. Stir in sauce and 1 2/3 cups hot water. Set aside.
To prepare the cheese mixture, combine ricotta cheese, 2 cups mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese and eggs. Mix well and set aside.
Layer in a greased 13x9x2-inch baking dish, meat sauce, dry noodles and cheese mixture according to the Layering Instructions below.* (Evenly divide noodles into 4 layers. Some lasagna noodles may need to be broken to cover layers.)
Bake covered, 50 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Let lasagna rest 10 minutes before serving.
*LAYERING INSTRUCTIONS:
LAYER ONE: 2 1/2 cups meat sauce.
LAYER TWO: 4-5 dry noodles.
LAYER THREE: 1/2 cheese mixture.
LAYER FOUR: 4-5 dry noodles.
LAYER FIVE: 2 cups sauce mixture.
LAYER SIX: 4-5 dry noodles.
LAYER SEVEN: Remaining cheese mixture.
LAYER EIGHT: 4-5 dry noodles.
LAYER NINE: Remaining meat sauce.
LAST LAYER: Remaining mozzarella cheese.
