Recipe: Orange Barbecued Spareribs (using honey and ginger, Heinz Ketchup recipe, 1990's)

ORANGE BARBECUED SPARERIBS

3 to 4 pounds pork spareribs
Salt and pepper
FOR THE ORANGE BARBECUE SAUCE:
1 cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup
2 tablespoons frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon grated orange peel
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

Cut ribs Into 2 rib sections. Place ribs in large pot with enough water to cover; parboil until tender, about 40 minutes. Drain well; season with salt and pepper.

Combine ketchup and remaining ingredients; brush on both sides of ribs.

Grill or broil 6-inches from heat until ribs are hot, about 6 to 7 minutes per side, brushing frequently with sauce.

Makes 4 servings (about 1 1/4 cups sauce)
