Recipe: Apple Fritters (with chopped apples in batter) (Hamilton Beach Blender, 1950's)

Desserts - Pastries
APPLE FRITTERS

1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
2 cooking apples, washed, cored and quartered
Powdered sugar (for sprinkling on cooked fritters)

Sift flour, sugar, salt and baking powder together into a medium bowl; set aside.

Put milk, eggs and apples in Blender container; cover and blend on Speed 4 just until all apples go through the blades once (do not overblend, or apples will be liquefied). Add apple mixture to dry ingredients in bowl and stir until batter is smooth.

Drop batter by teaspoonfuls into deep fat heated to 370 degrees F; cook until fritters are golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper; sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Makes about 30 fritters
