Butter Dips
Yield: Enough to serve 8
(Tender tidbits of biscuit dough baked in butter.)
1/2 c. butter
2 c. plus 1/4 c. flour
1 Tbls. sugar
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.Place butter in a 9 by 13-inch baking pan & melt in oven. Take pan out of oven when butter has melted.
Meanwhile, sift dry ingredients together. Add milk & stir with fork just till all is moistened.
Turn onto floured board & roll into a rectangle approximately 9 by 13-inches & score with a knife into 3/4-inch strips lengthwise & crosswise every 2-inches, going almost but not quite through the dough.
Lift scored dough (in 2 halves is easiest)on spatulas & place on melted butter in baking pan.Bake for 15-20 minutes at 400 degrees F.
