Quick Beer Batter for Seafood

1/2 cup beer
1 cup Bisquick
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
3 to 4 tbsp. Bisquick
1 lb. fish or shrimp
oil for 1 1/2-inch depth of frying
Lightly coat seafood with the 3 to 4 Tbsp. of Bisquick.
Mix 1 cup Bisquick; salt; egg and beer, till smooth.
Heat oil to 350 degrees in fryer, or deep, heavy fry-pan.
Dip coated fish into the batter; letting excess drip back into bowl.
Fry till golden brown; approx.1 1/2 min on each side, for shrimp and
a little longer for small fish.
Serve with fries or chips and Malt vinegar for a real treat.
