TERIYAKI BURGERS
1 1/2 pounds ground beef
FOR THE TERIYAKI SAUCE:
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons oil or olive oil
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
2 cloves garlic, crushed
Shape ground beef into four 1-inch thick patties. Chill.
Combine remaining ingredients for the Teriyaki Sauce in jar. Cover; shake well. Let stand 2 hours at room temperature to blend flavors, then pour Teriyaki Sauce over beef patties 1 hour before grilling.
Grill patties 3 to 5-inches above hot coals, 10 to 12 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Brush with sauce frequently.
Makes 4 servings
