Recipe: Skillet Stroganoff (one pan, using ground beef and noodles)

SKILLET STROGANOFF

"Here's a quick version of a traditional family favorite."

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can condensed beef broth
1 (4 ounce) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained
2 cups uncooked egg noodles (about 4 ounces)
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup sour cream

Cook ground beef and onion in 10-inch skillet, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain.

Stir in remaining ingredients except sour cream. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until noodles are tender. (Add small amount of water if necessary.)

Stir in sour cream. Heat just until hot.
