Recipe(tried): Tennessee T-Cakes - I just tried Marilyn's recipe (problem/question)
Desserts - CakesSeeing as I'm not a baker at all, I wasn't sure about something in her recipe, specifically the flour measurement. her recipe says "5 oz (1 cup plus 2 tablespoons) all-purpose flour"... now those are not equal measurements and I was stuck wondering which measurement was the correct one for the recipe?!
For those who said they made Marilyn's Tennessee T-Cake clone recipe, what did you use?
I went with the 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons part and found them to be a little chewier, not sure if that's what the clone texture was like for others, having tried the original/real t-cakes from that company I would have liked the clone to have been a little closer in that aspect. So will using the 5 ounces be too little?
again, I am not a baker at all, neither me nor my husband have a sweet tooth.
anyone experienced enough with experimenting with baking that can shed a little light on this?
The flavor is yummy though, I used french vanilla extract, I couldn't find any caramel extract around here, but I think the caramel extract might be what would make these taste more like the original ones.
