Recipe: Cindy's Almond Joy Pie (correction needed)

3 eggs
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup coconut
1 9" unbaked pie shell
Beat eggs, slightly, add other ingredients.
Pour into the unbaked pie shell. Bake at 350 until done (about 1 hr - 1 1/2 - see note*)
Let pie cool for awhile. Spoon topping over finished pie carefully and spread over.
Topping Ingredients:
2tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp cocoa
1 1/2 cup icing sugar
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup whole almonds
This recipe comes from a good friend of mine in Texas, it is most enjoyable!!
*Editor's note:
This recipe has been reported as not working. The baking time looks like it's too long and should proabably be adjusted to maybe 20-30 minutes. If anyone tries it again please post any adjustments you make to make it work. - Betsy
