INDIAN BEEF BARBECUE
1 pound beef top round steak
1/2 cup fresh lime Juice
1 teaspoon ground coriander
1/2 teaspoon chill powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Trim outside layer of fat from steak. Cut steak into 1-inch thick slices. Place in glass dish.
Mix remaining ingredients except oil; pour over beef and cover. Refrigerate, turning steak occasionally, at least 3 hours, no longer than 48 hours.
WHEN READY TO COOK:
Remove steak from marinade. Boil marinade for 2-3 minutes in a small saucepan.
Cook beef over barbecue grill 4 inches from medium-hot coals, turning occasionally, 8 to 10 minutes per side for rare, or until desired doneness. Baste with marinade during cooking.
Makes 4 servings
