MOLASSES MAGIC FRUIT BARS
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup Brer Rabbit Molasses
2 eggs
3/4 cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground salt
1 cup chopped nuts
1 cup chopped seedless raisins
Melt shortening, cool.
Add molasses and eggs. Beat well.
Sift together flour, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Add to molasses mixture. Stir in nuts and raisins. Pour into greased shallow baking pan. (Pan size not provided - baking time will vary depending on pan size.)
Bake at 375 degrees F for 25-30 minutes. Cool for five minutes. Cut into bars.
