Spoon Bread
From: Betty Crocker's Picture Cookbook, first edition, 1950
Temperature: 400 (mod.hot.oven)
Time: Bake 20 to 25 minutes
Amount: 6 servings
Pour:
1 cup boiling water
Over:
1/2 cup white corn meal
Beat in:
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp. soft butter
2 eggs, well beaten
Pour into buttered 1-qt. casserole or baking dish.
Bake until just set.
Serve piping hot with butter.
