SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN
1 frying chicken, cut up
Wesson oil to depth of 1-inch in skillet
1/2 cup maple or maple-flavored syrup
1/4 cup water
1 lemon, sliced
1/2 cup raisins
1 tsp. salt
Dash ground black pepper
Brown chicken in oil. Remove and pour off all but 2 tablespoons oil and browned bits.
Replace chicken and add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
Makes 4 servings
