Shrimp and Pasta Salad

1/3 cup red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup uncooked rice shaped pasta
2 cups tomato -- diced and seeded
1 cup frozen peas -- thawed
1/2 cup purple onion -- finely chopped
1/4 cup parsley -- chopped
1 pound medium shrimp ** -- cooked and peeled
Boston lettuce -- optional

Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl. Stir well, set aside.

Cook pasta omitting salt and fat, drain well.

Add pasta and remaining ingredients to vinegar mixture and toss well. Cover and chill.
