Recipe: Apple Pie Morning Glory

APPLE PIE MORNING GLORY

"A recipe from Texas!"

1 egg, well beaten
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
4 apples, medium size, pared and chopped or sliced*
1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Combine all ingredients and pour into buttered 9-inch pie plate (no crust).

Bake in 350 degree F oven for 30 minutes.

*You can substitute canned pie-sliced apples if desired.

VARIATION:
This pie can be baked in a pastry shell if desired, just extend the baking time to 1 hour.
