Cream Cheese Candy
From: Kitchenlink
that Mom taught me how to make
misc.consumers.frugal-living/Ruth Ann Francis
1 oz cream cheese
1 cup confectioner's sugar
(recipe can be doubled or whatever)
Mix well. This takes a bit of time and I can't use anything other than my hands to do it, or it just doesn't work right. The consistency that you want is something like playdough. If it's too sticky, add more sugar, too dry, add a very small amount of cream cheese. Add food coloring and flavoring and shape as desired.
You can roll it out into a sheet and cut with cookie cutters, roll into a "log" and cut into small circles. You could probably put it into molds, although I've never tried this.
Stores well in the fridge for a couple of weeks or in the freezer until you forget what it is an throw it out in a yearly (or bi-yearly or whenever the power goes out) cleaning binge.
